How To Adjust Transparency Of Images In Google Slides
Last Updated: September 16, 2021
When editing a presentation in Google Slides, it’s important to consider that there should be a balance between all the elements present in your slides. For instance, there might be too many texts and images in your slide which makes it look a bit cramped. Or, another scenario could be that you have an image as your background in a slide, but its dark colors overpower the other elements present on it and make them appear unclear or hard to read.
In these cases, the best thing would be to format your image and adjust its qualities. With that, the best thing one can actually do is adjust the transparency of the image to highlight the presence of other elements. If you already know that, then good for you! But if not, that’s alright as well.
Whether you’ve already known it or not, there’s still more you will learn as you finish reading this guide about adjusting image transparency in Google Slides.
1. Launch google slides and select a presentation you want to modify.
Go to Google Slides’ website and from all the presentations you have, select the specific document you wish to edit. If the presentation that you want to modify is not in your existing works, you can simply create one; afterward, you can begin with editing the images that you will include.
2. Select the slide that contains the image you want to edit.
If you’ve already accessed the presentation you will be working on, look at the left panel of your screen then select a specific slide that contains the image you want to modify.
3. Click on the photo you want to adjust the transparency.
Click on the specific image that you want to adjust the transparency. Once selected, a blue outline will appear around the image as well as additional options in the toolbar — replacing an image, format options, and animate.
4. Click the “Format Options” in the tool bar then select “Adjustments”.
In the added options in the toolbar, select the “Format Options” button and a panel should appear on the right side of the page. From the new window, click on “Adjustments” and you have to see the transparency label. However, note that the “Format options” won’t show or will disappear in the toolbar if you’re selecting a different element from the image.
5. Drag the slide button until you achieve your desired transparency.
In the transparency option, drag the slide button until you become satisfied with the transparency of the image you’re editing. While doing this, you will be able to notice that the image already changes in terms of opacity as you slide the button to the left or right.
If you have two or more photos to edit, you can do it by simply repeating the same instructions as above. In addition to adjusting the transparency, the adjustment section in the Format options also allows you to modify the brightness and contrast of an image. Plus, if you don’t like the result of your edit, there’s a reset button that can revert the changes to their original state.
Spice Up Your Presentation with Creative Images
Indeed, that’s just one of the aspects you can use in editing the images you will be inserting in Google Slides. With just a bit of exploration, you’ll be able to customize the image color, size, position, direction, and animation as well.
