But, for any newcomer, it can be a bit challenging to figure them all out. The downside to having so many features is learning all of them. That’s why this guide is here. We will show you how you can assign roles on your Discord channel from your phone.
Discord, like any other communication app, has admin privileges. This is a feature that allows the people who have created a server, to have complete control over that server. In other words, if you want to assign roles, you need to create your own server.
Here, people can gather to chat and have fun. And you can regulate all the individuals who enter the chat. You can give them permissions or assign them roles. This might seem like an impossible thing to do, but it is pretty easy.
We will show you a step-by-step guide to how you can assign roles on your phone. Let’s begin.
Step 1
Open your Discord app. The first thing you will notice is the chat where you typed the last time. Go to the three horizontal lines in the top left corner and press on them. They will take you to the main menu in Discord.
Step 2
Select the server you want. The servers are displayed on the left side of the menu. Tap on the server icon and press on the dots in the right corner.
Step 3
Now, this menu will pop up. Select “Server Settings”.
Step 4
Scroll down a bit and select “Members”.
Step 5
Now, this is the full member list. Here you can find all the people who have joined your server. Pick the person you want to set the role to. You can type in their name in the search bar if you want to find them quickly. Once you’ve found that person, select the three dots menu on the right side. Tap on it to get to the next step.
Step 6
Here are all the roles you have. You can add new roles or select the one you’ve already created. Toggle the role on and off by selecting the empty square. Once the square turns into a checkmark, the role has been assigned.
Step 7
To see the role you’ve just assigned, go back to the member list. Under the user name, you will see a new title pop up. This is the role. See the screenshot below.
That’s it! Now you know how to assign roles on your phone.
