Aside from other features that you can use to improve your page, the Notion app allows you to group texts and images even without requiring you to create a table. Instead, you can choose to add a column to your page.
Thankfully, the steps in adding a column in Notion are pretty simple. Since Notion allows its users to drag content on its pages, you can place columns wherever you want. Follow our step-by-step tutorial below to learn how.
On your computer:
- Using your preferred web browser, visit Notion and sign in to your account.
- On the sidebar at the left side of your screen, open one of your pages.
- Hover your cursor over a text on a page that you want to add as a column.
- Left-click and hold on to the icon with the small dots to move the content.
- Drag the text to the end of another content and keep your eyes open for a blue vertical line that appears on your screen. When you see one instead of a horizontal line, release and drop the content to add it as a column.
Note: You can resize columns by hovering on the content and dragging the gray vertical lines left or right.
That’s how you add columns on one of your pages in Notion. You can create as many as you want until it fills up the width of the page.
You can remove columns by dragging the content and placing it below the blue horizontal line that appears on your screen. On the other hand, you can also choose to click the icon with small dots and select Delete from the menu.
Unfortunately, adding or viewing columns isn’t possible on the mobile app. When you try to open pages with columns, it will show it below to content on the left instead. However, please note that columns are available for tablets.
