How to add a workspace in Notion

If you want to work on a new workspace on Notion, you can create one under your current email. In this way, you can easily switch between the workspaces you use without logging out of your account.

You can add new workspaces on Notion whether you’re on your phone or computer. Follow our tutorials below, and we’ll show you how to do it from both.

On your phone:

1. Open the Notion mobile app and sign in to your account.
2. Tap the current workspace’s name on the top of the app.
   
   
3. On the menu that appears, tap More options (three dots icon) under the Account section.
   
   
4. Select the “Join or create workspace” option.
   
   
5. Choose how you want to use your workspace and tap Continue to create a new workspace.
   
   

If you’re using a work email, you might see workspaces that you can join right away. You won’t be able to do that with a personal email address.

On your computer:

1. Open the Notion desktop or web app and sign in to your account.
2. Click your workspace name on the top left corner of the app and click More options (three dots icon).
   
   
3. Select the “Join or create workspace” option.
   
   
4. Choose what type of workspace you want and click Continue to confirm your decision.

If you choose to create a workspace for a team, you need to add a name for it right away. On the other hand, you can rename personal and school workspaces after creating them.

After creating your new workspace, you can easily switch between your existing workspaces on Notion. All you have to do is click the name of the current workspace and select the name of the one you want to use.
