Last Updated: November 13, 2022
Do you want to automatically add people to one of your teamspaces in Notion? Or do you want to make sure that everyone in your workspace is a member of one of the collaboration spaces? If so, you can make a default teamspace on the app. Follow our quick guide below, and we’ll cover all the steps you need to know.
Tutorial
Teamspaces in Notion are spaces where members can view and share information with other people within their workspace. Users can also have a separate section within the space so that they can work with their team online.
If you’re working with multiple teams and a lot of people, you need to make sure that everyone is on the same page. Thankfully, you can automatically add all workspace members to your default teamspaces on the app.
Every workspace on Notion has at least one default teamspace. However, you can add new teamspaces you created to the list.
Here’s our guide about adding more default teamspaces on Notion.
How to add more default teamspaces on Notion
If you want to add all current and future workspace members to a teamspace automatically, you can add it to your default teamspaces. In this way, you won’t need to bother adding more members to the teamspace one by one.
You can set a default teamspace from the Notion web or desktop app. In our tutorial below, we’ll show you how to do so.
On your computer:
- Open the Notion desktop or web app and sign in to your account.
- Click “Settings & members” on the sidebar.
- Go to the Teamspace settings under the Workspace section.
- Click the field under the “Default teamspaces” section and type the name of the teamspace that you want to add to the list.
- Select the right teamspace from the search results and click Update on the right.
That’s how you add more default teamspaces on Notion. Once you make a teamspace default, all workspace members (current and future ones) become a part of it immediately.
If you want to remove a default teamspace, click the “x” icon beside its name on the Default teamspaces tab and select the Update button. Removing a default teamspace won’t remove its existing members, but it won’t add future workspace members to the space automatically.
To wrap things up
Now that you know how to add a default teamspace in Notion, you can now automatically add current and future workspace members to the collaboration space of your choosing. In this way, you can make sure that everyone on your team (even new members) can join the teamspace immediately.
