How to add a contact to your favorites list on Skype

If you want to access contacts such as your family, friends, or workmates with ease, you can choose to add them to your favorites list on Skype. Once you do, you’ll find them at the top of your Contacts list, where you can send a message or make a call with ease.

You can add people as favorites whether you’re using Skype on your phone or desktop. Here’s how to do it from both.

On your computer:

1. Open the Skype desktop or web browser app and sign-in to your account.
2. On the left side of your screen, click the Contacts tab.
   
   
3. Right-click on a contact and select “Add to favorites.”
   
   

After adding your contacts to your favorites list, you’ll find them on the top of your Contacts tab so that you can message or call them with ease. Aside from that, your conversation with the contact will also show up at the top of your Chats list.

On Android:

1. Open the Skype app from your home screen or app drawer and sign-in.
2. At the bottom right side of your screen, tap Contacts.
   
   
3. Tap and hold on to one of your contacts and once the options show up on your screen, select “Add to favorites.”
   
   

In addition to marking your contacts to your favorites on Skype, you can also add group and individual chats to the list. By doing so, you get to access and view conversations without browsing through your recent chats.

However, please note that Skype on some Android versions only allows you to add a contact to your favorites list.

How to remove a contact from your favorites list on Skype

If you’re using the Skype desktop or web browser app, all you have to do is right-click on one of the contacts on the favorites list and select “Remove from favorites.” Aside from that, heading to the Chats tab and removing a conversation from your favorites also removes them as favorites on the Contacts tab.

As for Android users, the process is pretty much the same. But instead of right-clicking, you must tap and hold on to a conversation or chat and select “Remove from favorites.”

How to hide your favorite chats on Skype

Aside from removing conversations from your favorites, you can also hide them from your Chats tab if you don’t need to view them. On your computer, click Recent Chats and select “Hide favorites” from the drop-down menu.

For Skype on Android users, head over to the Chats tab on the app. At the upper right corner of your screen, tap the three-dot icon to access more options and select “Hide favorites.”

Once you hide your favorite conversations, they won’t show up on your Chats tab even if you refresh the page or restart the app. To display them, you have to click Recent chats or the three-dot icon (On Android) and select “Show favorites.”
