Google Photos: Moving A Photo To Archive
Last Updated: August 31, 2022
We use Google Photos to save photos that we want to keep for a long time. Since we have a large number of images in stock, the album may appear disorganized. You can hide your photos by moving them to your archive folder to help you organize and sort them.
Google Photos
This feature is available whether you use Google Photos on your computer or your mobile phone. Simply keep reading this article to find out how!
Using Your Computer
Follow the 5-step guide below if you’re using your computer’s web browser to archive some photos in your Google Photos account.
1. Open the web browser then go to Google Photos.
To begin, you must open your computer browser and then navigate to Google Photos. You can just click here, and you’ll be directed to Google Photos.
2. Make sure that your account is logged in.
If you are already on the Google Photos page, you must ensure that your account is already logged in. If not, just input your Google credentials to sign in.
3. Select the photo that you want to put into the archive.
Browse through all of your Google Photos and select the ones you want to archive.

4. Click the three vertically-stacked dots.
If the selected photo is already displayed on your screen, you will need to look for the menu options by clicking the three vertically stacked dots. This menu button will be in the upper-right corner of the image.

5. Select “Archive” from the list of options.
After clicking the menu button, a drop-down list will appear; then, from that list, you should select “Archive.”

Using The Mobile Application
If the first method did not work for you, you could try this simpler and fewer steps method on your Google Photos app using your mobile phone.
1. Launch the Google Photos application.
First, you must launch the Google Photos app on your mobile device.
2. Log into your account using your Google credentials.
Next, before you can continue doing this on your phone, make sure your account is logged in, and if it isn’t, sign in with your Google credentials.
3. Choose the photo that you want to archive.
Carefully browse all the photos in your account, then select the ones that you want to hide and put them into the archive folder. If you cannot find what you are looking for, you can search for a keyword for that photo.

4. Tap the ellipsis then click the option “Move to archive.”
After you’ve chosen a photo, tap the ellipsis in the upper right corner of it. When you click this, menu options will appear just below the image. You must select the second option, “Move to archive,” from those available.
