Gmail How To Download Attachments From Multiple Emails
Last Updated: April 10, 2020
Gmail is a great email service provided by Google. In fact, it is more than that; having a Gmail account gives you access to a wide variety of features. For example, you can access Google Drive, share docs, and many other things. And the best of all is that you don’t have to pay for this service. You can enjoy most of Gmail functions without paying anything. However, you have to pay a fee if you need more space in Google’s cloud service.
But Gmail could be so perfect. Sadly, there is a little flaw in its system and is that it does not allow you to download multiple attachments from different accounts. While for some people this is not a problem, for others it is a big deal, because it is a waste of time to download all the files individually. Especially if you receive many documents or files by email. But worry no more! We have a solution for you. It is quite a process, but it will save you a lot of time, and all the files will be already organized for you. Here is how you can do it.
Go to https://takeout.google.com/ and login with your Gmail credentials. Once you are in, click on the uncheck all options. Then, click on the square on the Chrome section.
Scroll down until you reach the bottom of the page; click on the next step icon.
You can customize the download on this next page. You can choose to download everything, or you can schedule bi-monthly backups. You can also choose to download the log on either a .zip or tgz file. Finally, choose the maximum size of the file. If the size of all the attached documents is greater, they will be downloaded in different files. Hit the create file option once you have set everything to your liking.
Go to https://www.systoolsgroup.com/mbox-converter.html and download the converter tool; we will use it to transform the file downloaded in step 3 and get all the attachments.
Follow the installation wizard to complete the tool installation process.
Launch the app as soon as it is ready to be used. Note that depending on your computer, it could take a couple of minutes to load.
Head to the top left corner and click on the add file option.
Make sure that you use MBOX files to select an email application section. Then, choose the select files from the file system option, which is on the right side of the screen; hit next afterward.
Now, browse for the path where you downloaded the Gmail file and click on the Process button.
On this window, you will be able to see all the emails and their attachments. Select the ones that you want and click the export button.
Make sure that the HTML format is activated and click on the export button. Not that you can change the destination folder by clicking on the change button.
Once you’ve done this last step, open the folder and you will see all Gmail attachments there. As I said before, they will be organized by date.
The process itself is not difficult, but it is quite long when you are doing it for the first time. But the practice makes the master, so the next time will take a few seconds less.
