Last Updated: January 21, 2022
People tend to manually enter each recipient’s email address whenever they want to send an email to a group of people, but did you know that Gmail has a feature to save time by creating a group for those you frequently send the same email contents? If not, you must continue reading this article to help you successfully create a group in your Gmail account by simply following a 7-step guide outlined below!
1. Open Gmail on your web browser.
To begin, you must navigate to your web browser then open Gmail. Make sure that the correct account is logged in.
2. Click the “Google Apps” button beside your Gmail icon.
On the Gmail homepage, you will see a multiple-dotted icon or the “Google Apps” button, which you must click. It is located on the left side of your profile photo. Clicking this will allow a drop-down menu to appear on your screen.
3. Select “Contacts” option.
Since the drop-down menu is quite long and has many tabs, you must scroll down until you see the icon for “Contacts,” then select it. Google will bring you to a new window where you can edit anything about the Contacts in your Gmail account.
4. Go to “Contacts” or “Frequently Contacted” tab.
On the left panel of the new window, select the “Contacts” or “Frequently Contacted” tab depending on where the people you want to select are located.
5. Select the contacts you want to include in the group.
Select the people you want to include in the group you are about to create by clicking the checkbox beside their name and email address.
6. Click “Labels” then select the “Create labels” button.
After you’ve selected all the contacts to be added to the group, click “Labels” on the left panel, then select the “Create labels” button. This will allow a pop-up window to appear on your screen.
7. Type the name of the group then click “Save.”
In the pop-up window, input your desired name for the group, then click the “Save” button.
