How To Check if your Partner is on Bumble

Met someone new and want to see if they are still using dating apps? Need to check if your partner is on Bumble after they said they left? You’re not alone. Many new relationships go through this stage, especially if one or both people were active on dating apps.

Suspicion in new relationships isn’t new but it has changed in recent years. From wondering where your partner is and who they are with while out on the town we have switched to wondering if they are still on Tinder or Bumble. While opportunities to cheat have become more numerous, they have also become easier to discover if you know what you’re looking for.

Bumble is one of many dating apps out there but is also one of the most popular. While this article concentrates on Bumble, the principles will work on any dating app.

See if your partner is on Bumble

We all know someone who found The One or someone special only to find out later that they were still active on dating apps. Many of us have received tearful phone calls or messages from devastated friends who have just discovered the person they let into their heart was cheating on them. It’s not something anyone wants to go through.

It’s also something you may be able to see coming if you’re honest with yourself. Nothing is foolproof and there is no one-fix for cheating partners or discovering infidelity but there are often signs.

Bumble does not have a user search function. It likely never will as it goes against the browse function at its heart. If you could search for users, nobody would bother checking their profile stacks and swiping. So the simple way to check if your partner is on Bumble is out the window.

You still have options though. Before you use any of these options, think about whether you really want to stalk your partner across the internet. If you answered yes, there is more wrong with your relationship than just suspicion of them being on a dating app. That’s a subject for someone more qualified though. I’ll just stick to the detective work.

Set up a fake Bumble account

The easiest way to find someone on Bumble is to be on there yourself. Don’t use your own account though otherwise you will be as bad as the partner you’re so suspicious of. Set up a new account using fake details. Make sure to use the city or area that you know your partner would use to search. Enter a fake profile and images bearing in mind what your partner’s type is. You should be the ideal date for them so create a profile to match.

Then you’re just going to have to swipe through your card stack until you see their profile.

If you do find them on Bumble, remember. They may genuinely have forgotten all about their profile and may not be using it. Look at their profile, especially the images. Look to see if it’s the same as when you saw it originally and look for changes. If it’s the same as before, it may have just been left.

If images have changed to include pictures taken with you, with something you bought or were with your partner when they bought them or an image contains something that wasn’t there until you began your relationship, you know they have updated their Bumble profile since meeting you.

As far as I can tell, Bumble does not dynamically update profile pics from Facebook. If your partner joined via Facebook, Bumble will have taken images from there when creating the profile. If images are added or changed on Facebook, they will not change on Bumble. So if images are different, they were manually changed.

Other ways to check if your partner is on Bumble

You can also ask a friend who uses Bumble rather than setting up your own account but you will really need to trust them. I think it’s better to set up your own fake account to check but it’s your call.

There are also third party sites like Buzz Humble that say they can find people on the site. They use bot accounts to trawl profile cards and record each one. Reviews of sites like this are mixed so do your research before using one.

Finally, you could always ask them. If there is any level of trust between you, coming out and explaining your suspicions or fears may be enough to clarify the matter. They may show you their account and either snooze or delete their account in front of you. They may not of course but at least you will have tried.
