Can Gmail Be Sorted By Sender
Last Updated: April 18, 2020
We do not have to tell you how great Gmail is, because if you are reading this, you probably already know it. But you may also know that it has a huge problem; spam. All people who have a Gmail account will get constant messages that are either spam or not too important. The problem with these spam emails is that Gmail does not label them as pam. This means that they will appear in your inbox. This happens because such emails are written in a way that makes it impossible for the Gmail algorithm to catalog it as spam. Hence, overwhelming your inbox. For normal users, it could not be a problem. However, it could be annoying if you are trying to find a specific email.
Now, imagine that you are trying to find an mail that your employer sent to you with some important information. But it is buried beneath hundreds of emails. So you will have to spend unnecessary time on finding it. Would it not be great to have a way to either delete or organized the message by senders? Of course, it would be. And let me tell you something; you can do it, and here is how.
Go to your Gmail account; make sure that you are in the inbox section. There should be a search tool on the top of the screen. It should have, on its right, an arrowhead pointing down; click on it.
Now, you will see a new set of options appearing on your screen. There you can fill all the blanks necessary to speed up your search. But we are particularly interested in “From” and “contain the words” options. There you can type the sender’s email, and his or her name respectively. You can also modify other things such as the size. Hit the create a filter option once you have set everything to your liking.
Here in this next section, you can customize everything that your filter does. For example, you could either delete it, forward it to another mail, categorized it, or start it. It is the last one that you should use. This way, the next time that person sends you an email, it will appear on the top of all the others. Additionally, it will have a special tag labeling it as an important email.
If you are like me, then your email is saturated with a handful of emails that are trash. Yes, it will be easier just to delete them. However, it will take a long time to do it, and you could delete an important email in the process. Therefore, learning how to create this type of filter could be of help. With them, you can organize your emails by senders, delete spam emails as soon as you get them, automatically forward a work-related email to your working partners. In short words, you will be able to control all the email flow and have your inbox as organized as it can be so you don´t miss anything important.
