Using Android Share- Share Files ,Pictures,Contacts..

Android share is a very powerful and easy to use feature that lets you easily exchange text and images between applications.
The easiest way of understanding the android share feature is to go through some typical usage examples.
Using Android Share Examples
The examples we are going to cover in this tutorial are:
- How to send/share a file or picture by email.
- How to send/share a file to Google drive
- How to send contact details to someone.
1.How to Share or send a file by email using Android Share
This technique is used for sending files and pictures via email.
Step 1– Locate the file using a file manager like Astro File Manager and long press on the file to highlight it.
Step 2 -Tap the menu icon (top right) and a drop down screen appears with the options.
Step 3 Select share from the options.
Step 4– Another drop down menu appears showing all the Apps that you can use. Select the App from the list. In this case I am going to select Gmail.
The Gmail App will open with a compose message with the file added as an attachment. You now need to enter the recipient address,subject and a message then press send to send the file by email.
Note: in the example I sent a single file you can select multiple files and send them by email.
2. How to Share a File Using Google Drive
The process is almost identical to sharing a file by email
Step 1- Install the Google drive App. See Using Google Drive on Android
Step 2– Locate the file using a file manager like Astro File Manager and long press on the file to highlight it.
Step 3 -Tap the menu icon (top right) and a drop down screen appears with the options.
Step 3 Select share from the options.
Step 4– Another drop down menu appears showing all the Apps that you can use. Select the App from the list. In this case I am going to select Google Drive.
Step 5 -You will be given a chance to choose the location of the files on Google drive, the file name and the Drive account (if you have more than one). Press save when done.
3. How to Share or Send a Contact by Email Using Android Share
Step 1-Locate and select the Contact in the contacts App
Step 2 – Tap the menu icon and select share
Step 3- Choose Gmail from the options. You should notice the the options are different from when you shared a file earlier.
Step 4-The Gmail App will open with a compose message with the contact added as an attachment (.vcf file). You now need to enter the recipient address, subject and a message then press send to send the file by email.
