Indeed, you might be familiar with searching for a specific location and viewing the different routes suggested by Google Maps. Still, an excellent technique for you to get the directions when visiting multiple places would be to add multiple stops.
If this is something new for you, let this article guide you through adding multiple stops in Google Maps.
Adding Multiple Stops Using the Website
If you’re planning a trip but don’t know the directions to go to that specific place, don’t worry because you can safely reach your destination by using Google Maps’ online browser on your computer. Follow the instructions below.
1. Open your browser then go to maps.google.com.
To begin, launch your browser and navigate to the Google Maps website.
2. Click the “Direction” button beside the search bar.
On the upper left side of the maps, you should notice a search bar, and next to it, you should see the “Direction” button, which you should click.

3. Enter your starting point and your first destination then hit the ENTER key.
Google Maps will use your present location as your starting point by default, but if you want to change it, input a new one along with your first destination into their respective spaces. If you can accurately enter the starting location and first destination, press the ENTER key on your keyboard.

4. Click the plus symbol under the first destination then type another location.
Click the plus icon located beneath the initial destination to allow you to add another location point. If you wish to add multiple stops, repeat this process until you’ve included all of the places you’ll be visiting during your trip. However, keep in mind that you can only add up to 9 stops, and that’s only possible if you’re using the driving or walking option for adding multiple destinations.

Adding Multiple Stops Using the Mobile App
If you’re searching for guidelines on adding several destinations using your mobile phone, follow the steps below.
1. Click the “Direction” button on the bottom-right of the screen.
You’ll see the map as soon as you open the Google Maps application. Click the “Direction” icon at the bottom-right of this map to bring up a new screen where you can enter your starting point and destination.

2. Input your starting point and your first destination.
Fill in the blanks with your starting point and first destination. Keep in mind that Google Maps will always use your current position as your starting point by default, so don’t forget about this if you want to adjust it.

3. Click the ellipsis on the top-right corner of the page then select “Add Stop.”
After entering your first destination, you should click the three horizontally stacked dots in the top-right corner of the page. That option will bring up a menu at the bottom of the screen where you can select “Add stop” from the available options.

4. Enter the location of your next stop.
Enter the name of your upcoming destination. If you want to add more than one additional stop, this will automatically offer you another space.

5. Click “Done” if you’ve added all stops for your trip.
After you’ve added all your destinations, click the “Done” button to start your trip.
